It is with great sadness the family of Jeff James Morrison announces his passing on Thursday, October 1, 2020 at the LaVerendrye General Hospital.

Jeff was born on November 2, 1968 to Albert & June Morrison. He grew up in Lac La Croix First Nation. As a young man he took up carpentry and loved to build houses, he worked all over Northwestern Ontario, spending time in Kenora, Atikokan and lastly Fort Frances where he enjoyed spending his time watching his sons play hockey. He was very family orientated and always put his children first. He loved spending time with them. He was outgoing, humorous and brutally honest. You always knew where you stood with him.

He will be greatly missed by his partner Kristel Gutknecht; children Kristen (Kaylo Skead), Deyton, James, Gunnar, Jordan and Tristian; grandchildren Emma, Ikas; siblings Dennis (Roseanne), Roger (Crystal), David (Dawn), Sharon, Kimberly and Joy as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was anticipating the arrival of his newest grandson Kaylo who should be here any day.

Jeff was predeceased by his maternal grandparents George and Clara Ottertail, paternal grandparents Gilbert Oshawee and Ida Morrison, his parents Albert and June Morrison and siblings Shannon, Albert Jr. and Darlene Morrison.

Due to the COVID-19 restrictions a private family service was held at Green Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 6, 2020 with interment in the Riverview Cemetery in Fort Frances, Ont.

The pallbearers will be Dennis Morrison, Roger Morrison, Dennis Wayne, James Morrison, Gunnar Morrison and Ryan Oshawe.
The honourary pallbearers will be Stephanie Boshey and Leslie Ottertail. A traditional funeral ceremony will be conducted by Mide'kiwenzie of Ki'eshgitabaaning.
