Two milestone wedding anniversaries were celebrated in the weekend.
Gordon and Jeannine celebrated their 65th anniversary on Sunday, Sept. 1.
An afternoon of family and friends shared their best wishes and reminisced with the happy couple.
The event was held at Cornell Farms. Cornell’s three adult children–Kim, Debbie and Doug–along with many of their grandchildren and recent first great-grandchild, Charlotte.
Gordon and Jeannine remain active. I see them at Tour De Fort and all the Cornell barn concerts.
Gordon still active at the Cornell’s farm. Jeannine still makes sure her home is immaculate and cozy as can be.
Quite a remarkable couple!

Meanwhile, celebrating 50 years of marriage on Saturday, Aug. 31 was Steve and Velina Kennett.
They were honoured with a supper and evening of “country theme” dancing at the Devlin Hall
I wasn’t able to attend until after 8 p.m. However, the party and celebrating was still going strong. Laughter and the ” two step, plus line covered the dance floor.
The happy couple are both in great health, enjoy their three daughters, their son-in-laws and grandchildren.
Rosella (Velina’s mother), 96 years old, enjoyed the party. Another amazing couple.
Our community extends congratulations to both couples.
Keep smiling, dancing, farming and whatever else keeps you all going for many more anniversary celebrations!

Robin’s 2¢
Since a man can not raise his voice against his wife, God allowed him to snore aloud at night!
