Unsolved hit and run

Police are seeking witnesses to a recent hit and run incident.

On 15 May 2021, at approximately 9:39 am, officers of the Rainy River District Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Colonization Road East and Fifth Street East in Fort Frances, ON.   

The collision occurred when two pedestrians were walking northbound across Colonization Road East towards Fifth Street East when one of pedestrians was struck by a westbound red or maroon coloured automobile. The male pedestrian was knocked to the ground as a result of the collision and required medical attention. Immediately following the collision, the red/maroon vehicle fled the scene.   

Rainy River District Emergency Medical Services (EMS) attended the scene to tend to the pedestrian and transported him to Riverside Hospital in Fort Frances, ON for non-life threatening injuries.
