The deadline for the “This Old newspaper!?” readership contest, is drawing near. The Ontario Community Newspaper Association and the Fort Frances Times have teamed up to open the contest to our readership. Use old newspapers to create and construct an original item, and bring it to our office by Thursday, August 27, to enter to win a $1,000 prize. Entries will be posted online, with others from across the province, for an online public voting event, to determine the grand prize winner. Let your imagination be your guide – home decor, clothing. The sky’s the limit. At least 70 per cent of the piece should be newspaper with the rest being allowed for structural elements. In addition to the item, submit a short write-up and a few photos of how the piece was created.There are three categories available: Open, Junior under 12, and Family.
