The LaBelle’s Rainy Lake Fall Bass Classic is taking place this Saturday, Sept. 26, with COVID-19 restrictions in place.
Dale LaBelle is taking all the necessary precautions.
There are 33 teams signed up to far for the one-day tournament; that’s down from the usual 50 teams, because several regular teams from the States can’t compete each year. LaBelle shared with me the anglers are “more than pleased,” to take part in this annual event.
There will be no weigh-ins for spectators. The boats start leaving at 8 a.m. and weigh-in begins at 4 p.m.
Here’s wishing all anglers a great “weigh in” and LaBelle and his crew a successful Bass Classic.
Crossroads School would like to welcome all families to a virtual open house Thursday, Sept 24. at 5 p.m. In lieu of their usual apple crisp welcoming, they are sending home ingredients and instructions for each family to bake along with Team Awesome. Watch for details on crossroads.com, Facebook and your student’s Google Classroom.

Jerry Galusha passed away earlier in September; he was 80 years old. He passed in Sprague Manitoba, where he and wife Judy had recently made their home.
Jerry had two children.
Jerry was the youngest sibling of the Galusha family. He was my Dad Glenn’s brother. There were 14 siblings in the family. Uncle Ken Galusha is the only living sibling left; he lives out west.
Larry and Julie Stromness (Jerry’s nephew and his wife) and their two sons Joshua and Isaac attended a graveside service last Wednesday, September 16.
Sympathy to the many nieces and nephews living in the Rainy.River District.
Continued recovery to Jerry Allan who returned home last week. Jerry has been hospitalized since June 29. His leg was amputated during his hospital stay. Sending you wishes for continued health.
