Preserving tradition

On October 26, Kay-Nah-Chi-Wah-Nung (Manitou Mounds) hosted a deer skinning workshop. Pictured is Haley Broadbent (Blue sweater) and Cheryl Morrison (Red jacket). Instructor Pat Hyatt says it is important to do these kinds workshops so that traditional indigenous ways of life can be remembered and stay in use. The deer pictured was frozen to be used in a canning workshop on Nov. 9.
