Perry Nastiuk brought his most recent haul of morel mushrooms to the Fort Frances Times office to spread the word to his fellow enthusiasts and foragers that the elusive mushrooms are out and ready for the picking. Nastiuk said he’s a bit surprised they’re out in such large numbers considering they need plenty of wet weather to grow well, which he figures we haven’t had yet. Nevertheless, this selection was picked from an area not much larger than the Time’s front waiting area, so anyone with a regular foraging spot could be sitting on a small treasure patch of their own.
