‘Roots of Empathy’

baby-visit

Duane Hicks

Students in Becky Booth’s Grade 2 class at Robert Moore School said goodbye to baby Anthony Brunetta and his mother, Ellen Gibson, this morning during the “Roots of Empathy” program. It works to create emotional literacy and prevent bullying amongst students by using the baby as a “teacher,” and having children observing his development and feelings over various visits. The program, which also runs in other schools throughout the district, is organized for Robert Moore by Christine Badiuk of the Best Start Hub’s outreach program.
