Rainy River First Nations held its annual powwow at Manitou Rapids from June 17-19. Jim Mishquart (far left) of Rocky Bay First Nation and Ricky White (left) of Naotkamegwanning First Nation were the masters of ceremonies for the weekend. Registered dancers took part in Saturday’s grand entry, featuring royalty, Elders, and young ones. Host drums were Manitou Rapids Traditional Drums, with co-host drums Agency One (lower left) and the Whitefish Bay Singers. It began Friday with opening ceremonies and a royalty pageant. It continued the next day with breakfast, two grand entries in the afternoon and evening, with a break for dinner.
