Above, Lorna Cochrane, left, and Nancy Jones trade off telling the English and Anishinaabemowin language versions, respectively, of the tale of Nanabush and the Spirit of Winter during the “Come Listen to Them Tell Legends” storytelling event held at Kay-Nah-Chi-Wah-Nung Historical Centre on Saturday, Feb. 15. Below, Dorothy Medicine, left, spoke about some of the archeological work that went on at the centre and the mounds in the past while Laura Horton, Kay-Nah-Chi-Wah-Nung workshop co-ordinator Maria Vandenbrand and Nancy Jones listened in. The free event ran from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. and featured soup and bannock in addition to the stories. A free shuttle also ran to and from Fort Frances, with a stop off in Manitou.
