Beta Sigma Phi member Donna Penney trimmed daffodils at Knox United Church last Thursday night in preparation for its annual “Daffodil Day”—a fundraiser for the Canadian Cancer Society. The daffodils were delivered last Friday to businesses which placed orders, and also were sold all day at various locations around town. Since April is Cancer Month, paper daffodils and daffodil pins now are available at local businesses, including McDonald’s and Boston Pizza. The paper daffodils cost $2 each while people can take a pin by making a donation. Residents are encouraged to wear a pin throughout April to show their support.
