Naicatchewenin FN hosting derby

The 11th-annual walleye and bass classic will be held this weekend (Sept. 13 and 14) at Naicatchewenin FIrst Nation.
Boats launch at 8 a.m. and weigh ins start at 4 p.m.
This is always a fun-filled weekend with an abundance of amazing food to purchase. The anglers win great prizes.
It’s definitely an event that all people involved in the organization of the derby put their hearts and souls into.

Fall events are coming soon. The always enjoyed Guthrie Harvest Supper is Sunday, Sept. 29 at the Devlin Hall from 5-7 p.m.
This is always a wonderful meal with turkey and ham and all the fixings, including homemade pie. Adults pay $18, six-12 years pay $10, and five and under eat for $5.

There will be a tribute to Stompin’ Tom Connors performed by his son, Stomper Taw Connnors, on Oct. 19 at the Royal Canadian Emo Legion.
The cost is $30 in advance; $35 at the door.

This show is apt to sell out fast; the one held previously was an excellent show and sold out quickly.
