On Friday the Fort Frances High Muskies bested the Beaver Brae Broncos from Kenora 37-18. The Muskies will go on to face the Dryden Eagles this Friday in Dryden at 2:30 p.m..

The Muskies marched down the field on the opening drive and didn’t look back.

“Our guys practiced hard all week and it resulted in a good performance today,” said coach Louie Gauthier. “We’re peaking at the right time.”

Assistant coach Scott Fawcett says that preparation is everything when it comes to big games like this. Even drawing on ancient Chinese wisdom to make his point.

“Sun Tzu said ‘every battle is won or lost before it’s fought.’” Fawcett quoted. “So if we have another good week of practice like we have, and the guys have been practicing hard and they’ve been focused. Then it should result in another step up in our level of play.

Fawcett says you never know what can happen in a game and the team will go out and play its hardest.

“It’s why we play games right?” Fawcett said. “Nobody knows until you actually go do battle. All we can ask is that our guys each work at getting better each day and show up and work hard then good things happen.”
