SIJHL playoff format

THUNDER BAY, Ont.—The SIJHL announced last Thursday its format and timeline for the upcoming Bill Salonen Cup playoffs.

The first round of the SIJHL post-season will feature a pair of best-of-five quarterfinal series, which are slated to run between March 17-24.

Muskie Nordic Ski team caps year with great OFSAA performances

Going up against the best in the province can be nerve wracking for any athlete.

But the four members of the Muskie Nordic skiing team remained calm and put in great performances at the OFSAA championships held in Huntsville last Wednesday and Thursday as call came away with a top-40 finish in their respective divisions.

Skiers fare well at OFSAA

It was a fantastic end to the season for members of the Muskie Nordic skiing team at the OFSAA championships held in Hunstville on Wednesday and Thursday.

The four-member contingent that Fort High sent to the all-Ontarios all competed hard and came away with some great finishes.

Lakers battling consistency issues

The only thing consistent for the Fort Frances Lakers this SIJHL season is inconsistent play.

That was the theme once again over the weekend as the squad had a great effort in taking down the visiting Red Lake Miners 5-2 on Friday night but came out flat and couldn't muster much in a lethargic 3-0 loss to the expansion Wisconsin Lumberjacks on Family Day afternoon here.
