'Country Rewind' to perform next month


The Country Band, “Country Rewind” will perform some of the greatest country hits, Karaoke Style in the Emo Legion on Feb. 8, 2020, starting at 7 p.m. The cost of admission for the evening of entertainment and dancing will be only $5. Sing along, dance and enjoy a night down memory lane with this group from Atikokan. Come out for a great evening and support the Emo Legion.

Kids & Company will present “Rythmo 2” on Monday, Jan. 27 at 6:30 p.m. at the Townshend Theatre. Tickets cost $10.50 in advance (available online at and $12 at the door (kids three and under are free). For more info, call Tara at 271-0320.

This new show concept is unique in Canada! Rythmo 2 is a 100% participative youth musical show in which ALL participants receive musical instruments during the performance. The children also become musicians in the show! Mark the date on your calendar and plan on attending.

The Rainy River Valley Agricultural Society will be holding their annual meeting upstairs at the Barwick Hall at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 28. The agenda includes the election of Officers and Directors for 2020 and committee reports for 2019. Memberships for the coming year may be purchased for $10. Please plan on attending to support the RRVAS.

As county/region Annual General Meetings begin to wrap up, we would like to encourage each of our associations to consider young producers within their community to attend this year's Young Producer Development Program at this year's Annual General Meeting.

BFO invites young beef farmers between the ages of 19-40 to join key stakeholders within the Ontario beef industry for this important event. They will have the ability to network, view decision making on resolutions and elections, as well as learn more about the current issues facing the sector.

For those arriving the evening of Feb. 18 (the evening of Cattlemen's College), there will be a get-to-know session for attendees before Cattlemen's College begins, as well as a Young Producer Networking & Discussion Session that will take place late afternoon, February 19th.
