Boston Pizza is holding a St. Patty’s Day party today (March 17) starting at 7 p.m., with live music by Paul LeMesurier from 8-11 p.m. There also will be games and prizes.

The Fort Frances Lakers will host the Dryden GM Ice Dogs in their SIJHL regular-season finale today (March 17) at 7:30 p.m. at the Ice For Kids Arena. Tickets cost $10 for adults and $5 for students.

The committee of the whole will hold a special meeting–to further review and discuss the town’s 2017 operating and capital budgets–on Monday, March 20 at 4 p.m. downstairs at the Civic Centre.

The Fort Frances Sportsmen’s Club will hold its annual general meeting Monday, March 20 from 6-8 p.m. at the Fort Frances Public Library Technology Centre. The public is invited to attend.

“Radio Bingo,” a fundraiser for Fort Frances girls’ hockey, goes Mondays at 7 p.m. on B•93 The Border. Cards available at various locations in town and surrounding area.

The Muskies will open play at the OFSAA ‘A’/’AA’ boys’ hockey championship versus the O’Gorman Knights on Tuesday, March 21 at 11:15 a.m. at the Ice For Kids Arena, then will face the Immaculata Saints there at 7:30 p.m. following opening ceremonies at 7:15. Fort High will wrap up Pool ‘A’ play on Wednesday, March 22 at 9:15 a.m. against the Holy Cross Raiders at the IFK Arena. Quarter-final games will follow starting at 5 p.m., with the semi-finals set for Thursday at 8:15 a.m. and 10:15 a.m., the bronze-medal game at 5 p.m., and the gold-medal game at 7 p.m. Tournament passes are sold out but day and evening passes will be available each day.

The Northwest Catholic District School Board will hold its regular monthly meeting–via videoconference–on Tuesday, March 21 at 6:30 p.m.

CUPE Local 65 will hold a general membership meeting Wednesday, March 22 at 7:30 p.m. at the Fort Frances Volunteer Bureau (old CN station).

St. Mary’s parish is hosting its annual soup-and-bun fundraiser for D&P on Saturday, March 25 from 6-8 p.m. and again on Sunday, March 26 from noon-2 p.m.

“Bail or Jail,” presented by the Fort Frances Voyageurs Lions Club, will be held Saturday, April 22 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Fort Frances Curling Club in conjunction with the Chamber of Commerce’s trade show.
