Interest sought to resurrect Little League here

Little League baseball will be looking to make a return to the district this summer.
Initial plans are in the works to organize a Canadian Little League organization made up of local and district talent to play “inter-locking” games with squads from International Falls.
“We’re going to give it a try. This is a first step,” said parent Dave Sande, who earlier this month began the process by getting a charter from Baseball Canada to play in the Falls.
So far, Sande said the ages of kids being sought are between nine and 12 but that may change depending on the interest generated. He added being a border town is a benefit as fields and equipment are close by.
“We’re not starting from scratch but we need to come up with some players,” said Sande.
Cost to play for a full season—which runs from May 1 to July 1—is $85 (Cdn.)
Sande said anyone interested, including beginners, are welcome to write him at P.O. Box 538, Fort Frances, Ont., P9A 3M8 or fax him at 274-8329.
No information meetings will be planned until initial numbers are set.
