Curling club plans wind-up barbecue

Press Release

Where did it go?
It seems like only last week that the Fort Frances Curling Club underwent a much-needed face-lift with a roof job and fresh paint job.
Everyone was gearing up for another busy season that would see the local club host the Northern Ontario men’s playdowns as rinks vied for a spot at the Brier.
Like Kevin Martin’s drive for a world championship, that is now all history.
But although the season seems to have flown by, action still continues as club members now gear up for their annual wind-up and barbecue this Saturday (April 25), with tickets available at either Sight & Sound or Fort Frances General Supply.
An update of the season’s happenings will be provided to the membership at the annual meeting tonight (April 22) at 7 p.m.
In other news, with spring cleaning in the air, the Fort Frances Curling Club will be holding its second-annual Gigantic Garage Sale on Saturday, May 9.
The community responded very positively last year for this event, which saw individuals rent spaces in the large, secure indoor facility.
Whether it’s a garage sale, banquet, social, or wedding, the curling club has put things in place to accommodate the community all year long.
Interested parties are encouraged to contact Rick at 274-6667 with any curling club questions or concerns.
Even though last week we still were looking at snowbanks, rest assured that summer will fly by, too, and it soon will be time again to put that ice back in as the curling club gears up for yet another season and, across the miles, Kevin Martin gives it all another try.
