Voyageur Panel could see new ownership

After about seven years in operation, Voyageur Panel—the oriented strandboard (OSB) plant in Barwick—could see new ownership in the future.
“There is no decision to sell the plant, although options pertaining to
ownership are being explored by the shareholders,” Ralph Poore, media relations manager with Boise Corporate Communications in Boise, Idaho, said Monday.
“There are too many uncertainties to speculate beyond that at this time,” he added.
Voyageur Panel general manager Percy Champagne noted yesterday he could not comment on the possible sale nor add anything to what Poore had said.
The OSB mill, which is owned by Boise, has been operational since 1997.
