‘Tugnut’ to stage concert tonight

Since their last appearance in Fort Frances in April, local band Tugnut has been keeping busy with numerous shows in the United States as well as their usual trips to Thunder Bay.
Tugnut will look to blow the roof off the Ukrainian Hall this evening with the help of “Inabsentia” as well as the “love-metal” sounds of Chore from Dunville, Ont.
This will be the first time Chore plays in Fort Frances—and hopefully not the last.
With tickets on sale at Fort Frances High School and Sight and Sound, as well as Tugnut plugging the concert throughout the area, band members are hoping for a good turnout.
“We are hoping with the college students back, a lot of them will come and see what we have to show,” said Tugnut guitarist Joe Egan.
“We just hope that people will come and check it out because trust me, you do not want to miss Chore,” he added.
Meanwhile, Inabsentia is hoping to show the audience they also are a local band that’s going somewhere. They’re fresh off an appearance at the “chem-free” grad fundraiser last Wednesday in the Townshend Theatre, where they left the fans screaming for more.
The doors will open at 6 p.m., with the show starting at 7.
With their new demo CD out, Tugnut seems to be doing all they can to get noticed.
Once this show is complete, Tugnut will be aiming for The Apollo in Thunder Bay, where they will be playing with Redbook Standard and more bands to be announced later.
