‘Strawberry Social’ slated

Press Release

Next Thursday (June 19) marks the 59th year of the “Strawberry Social”–so be sure to mark your calendars!
Head down to the hospital grounds from 1-4 p.m., where the La Verendrye General Hospital Auxiliary will be serving up berries, cake, ice cream, and a beverage for only $4.
The fundraiser continues to be a favourite of the public since its first appearance in 1955.
As always, take-out orders can be placed in advance by calling 274-7509 prior to 6 p.m. on June 16.
However, the auxiliary encourages you to stop by and browse the baking, books, plants, the white elephant table, lucky dozen, and, of course, pick-a-strawberry.
While enjoying the “Strawberry Social,” also be sure to check out the auxiliary’s most recent fundraising effort—a raffle for a 14’ Lund Fury boat, with a 30 h.p. Mercury motor and Shorelander trailer (valued at $15,000).
Cash prizes of $1,000 and $500 also are up for grabs.
Tickets will be available for $10 during the “Strawberry Social,” as well as at the hospital gift shop, from auxiliary members, and around town wherever the boat continues to be displayed.
The draw will be held on Saturday, July 26 at the Sorting Gap Marina in conjunction with the annual Fort Frances Canadian Bass Championship.
With so many fun ways to support the auxiliary, giving back to our local hospital has never been easier!
