After a brief hiatus, the Riverside Foundation for Health Care is excited to announce that the electronic 50/50 Raffle is back just in time for Christmas! The previous lottery which was finalised on October 29th saw over $250,000 in cash handed out to area residents over the course of twelve months. The same amount went back to the Foundation to be used for the purchase of medical equipment. Over $90,000 was used to purchase two new ultrasound machines with the remainder of the funds being earmarked for the ongoing Picture This capital campaign.
Tickets for the new raffle will be available on November 22nd, 2021 at 8:00am with the jackpot draw taking place on New Year’s Eve. Repeat purchasers will notice that there have been some changes made to the pricing tiers for ticket bundles. ‘We noticed that very few people were purchasing tickets at the $5 price point and many people were purchasing multiple bundles at the $20 price point’ noted Foundation Director Allison Cox. ‘We decided to play around with the ticket bundle structure for this first draw to see how it goes and make a decision moving forward to see if we will continue with these new tiers based on response and feedback received’. Ticket bundles are available at 20 for $10, 100 for $20 or 250 for $40.
Tickets can be purchased at www.riversidefoundation.ca/5050 or by calling the Foundation Office at 274-4803 for offline sales.
In addition to the jackpot, the New Year’s Eve raffle will see four early bird draws take place in the lead up to Christmas. On December 3rd, 10th and 17th there will be one draw for a $100 gift certificate to Beaver Mills Market, Cloverleaf Grocery and The Place respectively. The final early bird draw of $500 cash sponsored by West End Motors and Gillons’ Insurance will take place on December 23rd. All tickets purchased prior to each early bird draw will be entered to win. All winning numbers are put back in the draw to be eligible for additional early bird draws and the jackpot.
Tickets make great gifts and can be purchased in someone else’s name. Simply put the name and contact information of the person who the ticket is for when you reach the billing info page of the online sales. If you want to hold on to the ticket until it is time to gift it, be sure to use your own email address here so that it is sent to yourself. You can then print the ticket to gift or forward it to them. If you use their email address here, the ticket and confirmation will be emailed directly to them.
All funds raised through the 50/50 help support the Foundation’s mission to raise funds for the purchase of medical equipment, the support of patient/client services, and the improvement of medical facilities for all residents of the area served by Riverside Health Care. Proceeds from the New Year’s Eve raffle will be directed towards the Picture This campaign. Although the Foundation is optimistic that in person events will be able to resume soon, the online raffle will continue to be a major source of revenue that will allow us to keep health care close to home.
