Jobs program open for applications

The Canada Summer Jobs application period is now open, with Thunder Bay-Rainy River MP John Rafferty saying members of his staff are ready to assist potential employers navigate the application process.
“The Canada Summer Jobs program is a valuable boost to our summer economy, and has helped students earn money and experience while assisting seasonal and permanent employers over the years,” Rafferty noted.
“My Ottawa and Thunder Bay staff has experience working on both sides of this program and can help applicants complete the process. They’re ready,” he added.
Canada Summer Jobs is a federal government initiative that provides funding to help employers create summer job opportunities for students.
It is designed to focus on local priorities while achieving tangible results for both students and their communities.
The application deadline for employers is Feb. 26.
