Remembrance Day was observed across the District last week, including at the Emo Cenotaph. Observances were altered due to COVID this year. Ceremonies held by Canadian Legions were small, private events held by invitation. Rainy River First Nation and Couchiching First Nation each held public gatherings.

Carly Taggart added a Maple Leaf to the Legion wall at the annual Remembrance Day tea there yesterday afternoon hosted by the local Legion ladies’ auxiliary. For a small donation, a leaf could be filled in honour and remembrance of loved ones who had been in a past war.
