Over two dozen residences have signed up for the West Rainy River District Lions festival of Lights. A Google Maps showing the locations along with the names has just been put up on Facebook says committee chair Marty Kreger. Just do a search for it on Facebook to view some of the spectacular displays

Participation in this year’s WRRD Lions Festival has been enthusiastic, Kreger says. So print out a map of the locations, pack up the family and take a drive through our night time winter wonderland. Entry to the Festival closed on Dec 11 and judging will take place throughout this week.

The winners will be announced this Friday evening at about 7:30 pm at the Rainy River Legion Club Room following the Legion Meat Draw and the WRRD Lions Christmas 50/50 Draw in support of the Figure Skating Club and Youth Hockey.

First prize in the WRRD Lions Festival of Lights is listed at $1000, second prize $500 and $250 for third prize.

The WRRD Lions initiated the Festival of Lights this year to help safely lighten community spirit and combat the gloom and depression of the COVID 19 Pandemic.
