Emo Legion fish fry slated for Good Friday

The Emo Legion will be holding their annual walleye fish fry on Good Friday (March 30).
The dinner will run from 5-6:30 p.m. with take-outs available before 4 p.m.
The price for this fantastic meal is just $17 per adult or $15 with a valid Legion membership card.
Children five to 10 years old can eat for $8 while kids 5 and under are free.
You can pay at the door or pre-pay at the Legion during the week from 3-6 p.m.

Also at the Legion, on April 13 from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. those interested can attend “Rainy River Ag Days.”
The guest speakers and their topics will include: CleanFarms (Agriculture Plastics Recycling Program); Envision (Ontario Farm Plastics Assessment Study Results); Nancy Daley-Fulton (Destigmatizing Ag Mental Health); and Diana McGhee (Bioengineering Riverbank Restoration).
There also will be presentations by Geoff Gillon of the Rainy River Future Development Corporation, Darrell Friesen of Precision Land Solutions, and Dick Trivers of Agricorp Insurance.
Refreshments and lunch will be served.

With less than a month to go, tickets for the Emo and District’s “Lion’s Share Grocery Raffle” are going quickly.
First prize is a $100 grocery coupon for 52 weeks. Second prize is $500 in coupons, and third prize is a $100 grocery coupon.
Prizes are redeemable at Cloverleaf Family Foods.
Tickets are only $10 each and only 2,000 tickets have been printed.
Proceeds will go to the Emo and District Club’s projects in the area.
The draw will take place at the Devlin Hall at 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 21, 2018.
Tickets are available from the cashiers at Cloverleaf or from Lions members who will be sitting at Cloverleaf and Walmart in the weeks ahead. Get your ticket(s) soon.

In related news, the Emo and District Lions are looking for a local student (age seven-15) who has Type 1 diabetes.
The club is willing to sponsor one camper to attend Briardale Camp on Lake of the Woods.
