What’s that glow in the night winter sky? Maybe it’s more than the Aurora Borealis. It is!

The West Rainy River Lions Club is once again sponsoring its Festival of Lights. The goal is to illuminate the community and lighten the spirits during this pandemic that has oppressed all our spirits and social well-being.

Last year’s Festival produced some really stunning displays in our villages and across the rural countryside. This year we have the opportunity to expand this even more.

The rules are simple:

Open to everyone in the West Rainy River District west from the Morley/Chapple Municipal Boundary.

Entry Forms and fees ($15) are available from Beaver Mills Market in Rainy River, Deadline is Saturday, Dec 11m 2021, 8pm. Judging will begin Dec 12.

The winners will be announced at the Royal Canadian Legion Br.# 54 on Saturday, December 18 at 6 pm.

So dig out those lights and decorations, fix up the extension cord you chewed up with lawnmower last summer and prepare to amaze yourself and your neighbours.
