On Sunday, Dec. 22 at the Christian Reformed Church in Emo, the fourth Advent candle (Joy) was lit and, as usual during the Advent season, the Sunday School children were involved in the worship service.
Only on this particular Sunday, the children presented their annual Christmas concert, and also did readings and sang appropriate Yuletide songs. Cole Kaemingh gave the Scripture reading.
The sancturary was filled with visitors who had come home for Christmas celebrations with relatives.
The evening service was a candlelight one conducted by the young people. It also featured scripture readings and songs based on the genealogy of Christ found in the book of Matthew 1.
On Christmas Day, the final candle was lit (Jesus), which was led by Nick Schryvershof.
