Applications for Canada Ontario Farm Stewardship Program (COFSP) Year 4 cost-share funding for farm projects identified in your Environmental Farm Plan (EFP) action plan are expected to be available Sept. 15.
As in previous years, funding will be allocated to potential projects on a first-come basis as completed applications are processed.
Total funding in Ontario is limited.
Eligible projects will be completed after Sept. 15 through 2012. The eligible project list of 28 categories should be similar to that of last year.
This will be the final year for COFSP. Each farm business is eligible for a maximum of $30,000 COFSP funding from 2009-13.
Attention Rainy River producers—urgent action required! This is an important notice to all producers applying for cost-share funding under the EFP program.
Funds are limited, and will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. This year we will be taking applications and registering them via the Internet on Sept. 15 at 6:30 a.m. at the Emo Agricultural Research Station.
To be eligible to submit applications, farmers must:
•have a completed, reviewed, and deemed appropriate third edition EFP (since 2005);
•have a valid Farm Business Registration Number (OFA, CFFO number);
•have a Business Number (nine digits plus RC0001) if applying under your business name, or a SIN if applying under individual name; and
•have a Premises ID Number Certificate.
On Thursday, Sept. 15, please come prepared to complete the application form, which will be provided there, and we will get you registered immediately.
Remember funds are limited and the program fills up quickly, so this is your opportunity.
For further information, contact Richard Trivers at 274-2930 or 276-0589.
As well, farmers with a peer-reviewed third edition EFP workbook may be eligible for funding under the Species at Risk Farm Incentive Program.
