Weechi-it-tewin Family Services will be holding a free Chili and Bannock Lunch, to promote awareness about domestic violence.

The event is a public event, with pick-up and go service, T-Shirts and prize draws. Please wear a mask – a limited number are available on-site if needed. The event will be held at 601 Victoria Avenue from 12-3 p.m. or until supplies last.

The event is being held to promote awareness about domestic violence and how silence hides violence. In Anishinaabemowin it is “Gagoo’kitoon” which translates to speak up. Speaking up helps create awareness and advocacy for those in need. As a community, awareness creates opportunities and action towards change.
