December is fast approaching and so are busy, fun times in Emo!
Dec. 5-7 will be the busy, fun Holly Daze in Emo.
A full three days of events are planned.
On Thursday, Dec. 5, there will be a dramatic reading of “A Christmas Carol” by Charles Dickens. This will be performed held at the United Church at 7 p.m.
Friday will see a full day of events. The Emo Legion is hosting their “Crafts Galore” and soup and sandwich luncheon at the Legion.
This event takes place from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday and then again Saturday from 9:30-3 p.m.
The always-popular and excellent parade takes place Friday night.
This event starts at 5:30 p.m. at the municipal garage and works its way to Front Street.
The annual tree lighting will take place after the parade.
There will be hot chocolate and cookies during the parade.
On Saturday, there will be a tea and bake sale at St. Patrick’s church from 1-3 p.m.
There is a $5 admission.
Baking, religious articles, raisin, apple and meat pies will be available to purchase.
This event is sponsored by the C.W.L.
“Stuff-A-Cruiser” is taking place at Cloverleaf Grocery on Saturday, Dec. 7.
Volunteers are needed for this worthy event. Call Charlene at 486-3455 or 275-8841.
This is a great way for students to earn volunteer hours.
Shifts are often two hours long.
There will be two $250 Emo Chamber of Commerce gift certificates drawn on Saturday afternoon.
While in Emo, sign up at local business for a chance to win one of these two certificates.
There is much more happening over the “Holly Daze” weekend.
I will be sure to print more events in my column next week.

Robin’s 2¢
I know you have all been laying awake at night wondering why babies diapers have brand names such as “Luvs,” “Huggies,” and “Pampers,” while undergarments for old people are called “Depends.”
Well, here’s the lie down on the whole thing: When a babies dirty their pants, people are still gonna “Lov” ’em, “Hug” ’em and ” Pamper” ’em.
When old people dirty their pants, it “Depends” on who is in the will.
