Dear sir:
I am writing in regards to the continuous reminders around town as to how many days are left until Christmas.
One way the Yuletide countdown is being announced is by those lovely sandwich boards that downtown businesses use. Another way is through your own weekly Internet poll.
All I can say is that I am still waiting for Thanksgiving, Hallowe’en, and possibly even snow before I even give a thought to Christmas. Thank you for the daily reminders but to me it seems the countdown is more an announcement of impending doom than a celebration of a joyous holiday.
So there are roughly 90 days left to be reminded that soon it will be Christmas. And in those 90 days, I highly doubt the first 60 will be spent worrying about Christmas gifts.
Sincerely,
Elizabeth Visser
