Dear sir:
“Communities in Bloom” is a non-profit organization committed to fostering civic pride, environmental responsibility, and beautification.
The Fort Frances committee is up and running, and the town will be provincially judged based on the efforts in management planning, maintenance, improvement, and innovation of the following: tidiness effort, environmental awareness, community involvement, natural and architectural heritage preservation, urban forestry, landscaped areas, floral displays, and turf and ground covers.
We compete against other communities in the province with 5,000-10,000 people, and the efforts of the 2004 committee already has put Fort Frances on the map throughout the province and the country.
We are writing this letter to explain what “Communities in Bloom” is,” and although several fundraising events and projects are planned, we are not eligible (as we had hoped) to raise funds through raffles to provide contest prizes, limited travel to education and awards ceremonies, and, of course, trees, shrubs, and flowers for specific projects.
Therefore, we are requesting a donation of money or goods to be used to support our efforts. Any donation—large or small—will be appreciated and acknowledgement as a sponsor will be published in future media releases.
Cash donations in excess of $100 will be listed as “Silver” sponsors and over $250 will be listed as “Gold” sponsors.
For more information, please call me at 274-5431 or Mayor Dan Onichuk at 274-5323. Thank you in advance for your support.
Sincerely,
Helen Crook
