Brad Wakefield of the Barwick Blue Knights wouldn’t be down for long, as Sight & Sound Wolves third baseman Duane Carlson watched a pickoff attempt go into left field. Wakefield rose to score the first of four runs in the first inning that catapulted the No. 2-seeded Blue Knights to a 13-7 win over the No. 3-ranked Wolves at Oltsher Field in Barwick last night in the Rainy River District Fastball League semifinal. The Blue Knights and the two-time defending champion and top-ranked Big Grassy Braves will meet in a rematch of last year’s final, with Big Grassy hosting Game 1 on Tuesday.
