‘Ride for Memories’ going tomorrow

It’s not too late to sign up to participate in the annual “Ride for Memories,” a fundraiser for the local Alzheimer Society, which is set to go tomorrow.
Motorcycle enthusiasts from across Rainy River and Kenora districts will depart from Fort Frances, Dryden, Kenora, and Sioux Lookout in the morning, meet in Dryden for lunch, and then take Highway 105 to Ear Falls for an afternoon break.

Then everyone will meet in Red Lake for a steak dinner at the Legion there starting at 6 p.m.
The event, which has been taking place annually here since 2003, is one of the largest fundraisers for the organization.
And they hope to see a good turnout once again, with both old faces and new faces.
“If you are interested in supporting the Alzheimer Society in the fight against Alzheimer’s disease and related dementia, please join us for the ride and dinner, or simply make a donation,” noted a recent press release.
To register for the “Ride for Memories,” visit www.alzheimerkrr.com or call 1-800-682-0245.
You will receive a “Ride for Memories” package, including a registration form, T-shirt order form, schedule of events, map of the ride, and pledge forms.
Registration costs $20, with riders asked to check in from 8-9 a.m. at The Harbourage here.
Money raised from the event helps the Alzheimer Society in providing ongoing delivery of services and programs.
