Fire hazard dampened

The forest fire hazard is “low” across the south sectors of the Northwest Region and climbing into “moderate” across the Far North.
However, as the weekend approaches, it looks like rain is in the forecast for most of Northwestern Ontario.

One new fire was confirmed yesterday—a small blaze smouldering in an old slash pile on the Graham Road in Dryden District.
No problems are anticipated with this fire.
Three active fires remain in the region, including two in Red Lake District and one in Sioux Lookout District.
