Whitehead sits 2-1 at OFSAA

Taylor Whitehead hopes the old adage of “It’s not how you start, it’s how you finish” rings true.
The lone Muskie representative at the OFSAA badminton championships in Markham is continuing his quest in the ‘B’ Flight of the boys’ singles division after splitting his first two matches yesterday and then earning a victory this morning.

Whitehead, the two-time defending NorWOSSA and NWOSSAA champ, lost his opening match to Shawn Jagmohan (Toronto District Secondary Schools Athletic Association) by a 2-1 margin (21-18, 17-21, and 21-12) to drop down to the ‘B’ Flight.
But he rebounded to beat Joseph Choi (Southern Ontario Secondary Schools Association) in his second outing 2-0 (21-18/21-9).
Whitehead then faced Chris Murphy (Georgian Bay Secondary School Association) this morning and pulled off another 2-0 sweep (21-18/21-19).
The tournament wraps up tomorrow.
