Kane out

CHICAGO—Blackhawks’ star Patrick Kane is expected to miss about three weeks with a lower-body injury sustained during a 4-0 win over the St. Louis Blues last night.
Kane, the team’s leading scorer, was injured when he collided with St. Louis’ Brenden Morrow at 7:56 of the second period.

Kane was favouring his left leg as he headed to the dressing room under his own power.
Morrow fell into Kane after he was checked by Chicago’s Sheldon Brookbank deep in the Blues’ zone.
“It was a freak play,” said Chicago coach Joel Quenneville.
“We’ve been fortunate most of the year,” he added.
“We’ll deal with it.”
