‘Hockeyville’ meeting set

Final preparations will be made Monday should Fort Frances get the chance to extend its dream of being crowned Canada’s next “Hockeyville.”
The announcement looms next Saturday (March 8) during CBC’s “Hockey Night in Canada,” when the top 16 communities that will advance in the Kraft “Hockeyville” 2014 competition will be unveiled.

With that in mind, local bid organizers will meet Monday at 7 p.m. at the Memorial Sports Centre to finalize plans for what needs to unfold should Fort Frances hear its name called.
The main topic will be confirmation of where the online voting stations will be set up throughout the community.
The “First Audience Voting Period” will take place at starting March 8 at 9 p.m. (CT) and running until 10:59 p.m. (CT) on March 10.
The top two communities in both the West and East brackets will advance to the top four, which will be announced March 15.
There is no limit to how many votes a person can submit during the voting period.
Plans already are in place for voting stations to be present in the lobby of the Memorial Sports Centre, as well as at various local businesses with free Wi-Fi capabilities.
