Faragher named top goalie

Ryan Faragher has bolstered his claim to the Hobey Baker Memorial Award.
The Fort Frances native and starting netminder for the St. Cloud State Huskies was named the National Collegiate Hockey Conference’s goalie-of-the-week for Feb. 10-16.

It marks the third time this season he’s garnered the honour.
Faragher, who currently sits second in the online vote to help decide the top player in U.S. college hockey, backstopped the fourth-ranked Huskies to a two-game sweep of No. 16-rated University of Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs.
Faragher had 37 saves in a 5-3 victory Friday, then did one better Saturday with 38 stops in a 4-3 win to move into second place all-time on St. Cloud State’s career victories list with 48.
Faragher now sports a 15-5-4 record, with a 2.67 GAA and .908 save percentage.
The Huskies lead the NCHC with an 11-4-3 record and are 17-6-5 overall.
St. Cloud State plays this weekend in Oxford, Ohio against the Miami (of Ohio) University RedHawks.
