Casting call issued

Committee Films, a Minnesota-based production company that develops television shows for Discovery, History, Nat Geo, and Travel Channel, is seeking to cast local characters to interact with the stars of an upcoming reality series about life in northern Minnesota.
The show will follow a handful of people highlighting the sorts of things that “southerners” can’t believe actually happen up here.

Whether insulating a deer stand, setting up an ice house, or carving ice sculptures with a chainsaw, the company wants to showcase the people who exemplify life in the frigid north—but do it with fearless flair.
“We’re looking for people that run small businesses or engage in unique winter activities to introduce our main characters to,” Committee Films said in a press release.
“Personality and chemistry with our main cast are key,” it stressed.
While many of the spots will be filled by Minnesotans, Committee Films is encouraging Canadians to apply.
“If you or anyone you know fits the bill, we’d love for you to upload a brief video clip of yourself answering a set list of questions,” the company said.
“We’ll e-mail you detailed instructions on how to do this.”
Those interested are asked to e-mail their request to rainylakecasting@gmail.com—and include “Canada Upload” in the message body.
The company had issued a casting call last week, with interviews to be held tomorrow and Wednesday at Woody’s Pub in Ranier.
Those spots already have been filled.
More details about the show, and which network will pick it up, will be released at a later date.
