CL wraps up its fitness challenge
The weather warmed up just in time for Community Living Fort Frances and District’s barbecue at Pither’s Point Park celebrating the end of their “Get Moving Challenge” yesterday afternoon.
The “Challenge,” which was open to service-users as well as staff, saw the participants record their physical activities over the summer.
Faith Moen, who does administration and communications at Community Living, noted that the service-uses were able to win prizes through the program.
“They liked bringing their forms in and seeing their progress,” she added.
At the office, everyone’s progress was charted visually.
Often, Community Living held group events for the service-users to try, including the Dragon Boat races, walking groups, and a bike rodeo.
Following a burger barbecue, over a dozen service-users and staff enjoyed the warm weather by playing badminton, frisbee, soccer, and volleyball.
