Elder abuse talks slated
Monday, 18 March 2013 - 1:08pm
A second one is set for this Wednesday afternoon at Columbus Place, with another planned at Flinders Place in the near future.
S.A.L.T. volunteer Nell Laur said she and others did training to present on elder abuse some time ago, but just now are getting the ball rolling with doing them for the public.
While the presentations at the manors are intended for those residents, Laur said she’s available to make such presentations for other groups/residences.
Laur noted the presentation she is doing right now focuses on abuse of power of attorney.
But S.A.L.T. has information to do presentations on elder neglect and how to look out for your neighbours’ well-being, among other related topics.
Groups interested in hosting a presentation on elder abuse can contact Laur at 274-4949.
