Three hurt in accident

Rainy River District OPP officers, Atikokan Fire Rescue, and the Atikokan Ambulance responded to a head-on collision involving two vehicles on Mercury Avenue there Friday morning.
The incident occurred around 8:55 a.m. when a Chevrolet Malibu travelling southbound on Mercury Avenue lost control and collided with a northbound GMC pickup truck.

One driver and passenger of the Chevrolet, along with the driver of the pick-up, were taken by ambulance to the Atikokan Hospital, where they were treated for minor injuries.
Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene.
No charges were laid.
OPP reminds motorists to adjust their speed according to road and weather conditions. Slow down, stay alert, and remain in control.
As well, be cautious of slippery roadways with changing weather conditions.
