Lakers rally to nip ’Dogs

In a similar situation from a couple of weeks ago, Carlson then was the hero for the Lakers in overtime, beating Ice Dogs’ goalie Robert Kopytek-Mackenzie.
Carlson led the way on offence with his two goals, with Rysavy and Jacob Nolan each notching a goal and an assist.
In goal, Talor Joseph was stellar once again, making 34 saves to improve his record to 10-0 since being traded to the Lakers.
Derek McPhail scored once and also chipped in with an assist to lead the Ice Dogs.
The second-place Lakers (34-15-1-2) now return home for a pair of games versus the Thunder Bay North Stars this Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at the Ice For Kids Arena.
Then they’ll wrap up their regular-season slate with games next Monday and Wednesday at the Fort William Gardens in Thunder Bay.

The Fort Frances Lakers won their 11th-straight game in dramatic fashion last night in Dryden, rallying to edge the Ice Dogs 4-3 in overtime.
Trailing 3-1 early in the third, the Lakers tied things up midway through the period on goals by Merritt Rysavy and Jon Carlson.
