MP slams cuts to EI

During question period yesterday in the House of Commons, local NDP MP John Rafferty called upon the Conservative government to stop its reckless EI cuts that hurt Northern Ontario workers, especially those in the natural resources sector.
“Under the Conservatives’ watch, we have seen over 27,000 jobs lost in Ontario’s forestry sector . . . mill after mill shut down in Northern Ontario,” noted Rafferty.
