Mother, two children found dead in home

STITTSVILLE, Ont.—Police have identified the two children and the woman found dead late yesterday afternoon in a home in the suburban community of Stittsville, just outside of Ottawa.
The victims—all residents of the home, police say—were identified as Jon Alexander Corchis, 10, six-year-old Katheryn Elizabeth Corchis, and Alison Constance Easton, 40.

No details about the cause of death were released, although a police news release described the incident as a “double-murder and suicide.”
Police said charges are not anticipated.
Meanwhile, grief counsellors have been summoned to Stittsville Public School, across the street from the home.
The Ottawa-Carleton District School Board said parent volunteers and extra supply teachers will also be on hand.
Tonya Marczak said her daughter was a good friend of the little girl, who she said loved to play dress-up.
“You couldn’t not see her in a dress-up dress when she came over to play, she was always dressing up,” Marczak noted.
The children attended Stittsville Public School, she said, adding the little girl was in junior kindergarten.
Marczak said the woman, a stay-at home mom, was part of the Neighbourhood Watch.
She described her as “very quiet.”
Fire officials say firefighters who arrived at the scene were “visibly distraught by what they had witnessed.”
