Coun. Tibbs passes away

“It is with great sadness that the Town of Fort Frances learns of the passing of Deputy Mayor Sharon Tibbs,” it read.
“Sharon has been a loyal and dedicated public servant of the people of Fort Frances for many years,” it added.
“Her commitment and passion for her community has been exemplary and unwavering.”
Tibbs was first elected to council in 1992 and served on council for 16 years.
She was appointed deputy mayor in 2007 and served in that capacity until her passing.
“Sharon was a vibrant presence on council who provided a considerable historical knowledge on the Fort Frances that has been invaluable,” the town’s release said.
It also noted mayor, council, and administration will miss the contributions and friendship of Deputy Mayor Tibbs.
In memory of her and her dedicated service to the Town of Fort Frances, the flags at the Civic Centre will fly at half-mast.
The press release said the town wishes to extend its sincerest condolences to the family of Deputy Mayor Tibbs during this time of sadness, as well as express its appreciation for her many years of dedicate service.

Deputy Mayor Sharon Tibbs, a dedicated member of Fort Frances town council for 16 years, passed away yesterday.
