Muskies ousted

The Cinderella run by the Muskie senior girls’ basketball team ended over weekend in Thunder Bay as the NorWOSSA champs were swept by the St. Ignatius Falcons in the best-of-three NWOSSAA playoffs.
The host Falcons opened with a 51-19 win Friday afternoon.

Then they sealed the championship—and a trip to the OFSAA ‘AA’ showdown in Sault Ste. Marie this weekend—with a convincing 61-22 triumph Saturday morning.
The black-and-gold, who finished the NorWOSSA regular season in third place with a 2-6 record, upset both the Kenora Broncos and Dryden Eagles back on Nov. 8 to capture their first league crown since 2009.
