Pair killed in crash

Two people are dead following a two-vehicle collision shortly after 7 p.m. yesterday on Highway 17 near Little Joe Lake, 50 km east of Kenora.
A 2003 Buick CCV was westbound when the driver lost control, causing it to cross into path of an eastbound Dodge Caravan.

The driver of the Buick, 75-year-old John Marshalok, and his passenger, 71-year-old Irene Marshalok of Kenora, were killed in the collision.
The 60-year-old male driver of the Caravan was taken to Lake of the Woods District Hospital in Kenora, where he was treated for injuries and released.
Highway 17 was closed while police conducted an investigation.
The Machin Volunteer Fire Department also attended the scene.
The highway was opened to one lane at 2:30 a.m., and has since been completely re-opened to traffic.
